Riverside Juice Bar

Parlatuvier Rd, Roxborough

The first building on the left as you enter the outskirts of Roxborough after crossing the Main Ridge Forest Reserve. No food, but Freshly made mixed fruit juices from around TT$10. Well worth a stop if you're crossing the Reserve.

Lobster Pot Restaurant  Our Ranking: Simple but worth a visit

Blue Waters Inn, Speyside

Tel: 660-4341

Restaurant at the Blue Waters Inn. One of our favourite hotels on Tobago, but sadly the catering is very poor.

Speyside Inn  Our Ranking: Consistently good

Main Road, Speyside

Tel: 660-4852

The Speyside Inn offers a full international menu, with particular emphasis on fresh, local produce and fish in particular. We enjoyed several delightful dinners there during our 2007 visit to the island. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, 7 days a week.

Banana Boat

Cambleton Road, Charlotteville

Tel: 660 6176

Popular local drinking hole with both visitors and residents. Limited menu of light meals. The few reports have not been particularly encouraging.

Bird Watchers Restaurant  Our Ranking: Generally positive

Main Road, Speyside

Tel: 639-5438

Standard Creole food. Better quality cuisine and service than Jemma's Treehouse, but lacking Jemma's excellent side dishes. Try the excellent macaroni pie though.

Cappuccino Bar  Our Ranking: Generally positive

Spring Street, Charlotteville

Tel: 660-6011

This little cafe undoubtedly serves the best cappuccino coffee that I have tasted in the north of Tobago. They are open throughout the high season from 8.30am to around sunset and by request during the low season. They offer a range of light snacks. This cafe is a welcome addition in a village of little choice.

Eastman's Restaurant

Corner Spring Street, Charlotteville

Small local restaurant that seem to be closed far more often than it is open. No reports or details.

Gail's  Our Ranking: Generally positive

Charlotteville

Open for dinner only. Closed Sundays. Small local restaurant close to the Pirate's Bay track, generally considered to provide the best Creole cooking in Charlotteville. Very reasonable prices.

Jane's Quality Kitchen

Charlotteville

Located right on the beachside in the centre of the village, Jane's only seems to be open mainly during the day and not all evenings. Good value but limited choice. Great rotis.

Jemma's Seaview Kitchen  Our Ranking: Always on our list

Main Road, Speyside

Tel: 660-4066

A Tobagonian institution. Standard stop for all the tour buses. Closed Friday evenings/Saturdays but open all other days for lunch, tea & dinner. No alcohol (bring your own). Many visitors really enjoy the experience. I hate the touristy feel of the place, but have to confess that I enjoyed an absolutely fabulous lunch there in 2008.

Redman Simple

Sharon & Pheb's  Our Ranking: Always on our list

Charlotteville

Light, bright and clean restaurant serving the usual mix of Creole food - "shrimp, fish or chicken?". Open for lunch and dinner. Their flying fish sandwiches were the best I've had. Service can be poor when Sharon is not on the premises, but excellent when she is.
