The cheerful, colourful birds of Tobago have long been a source of huge pleasure to us. We are not birdwatchers and prior to writing these articles, could only name a handful of the most common species. Even now, we do not consider ourself bird-watchers.
Bird-watching is one of the most popular visitor activities on Tobago. Our research for the various articles in this section was a great joy and the knowledge gained will undoubtedly enhance all our future visits to the island.
We are confident that most visitors will derive equal pleasure from our feathered friends, so we urge everyone to buy a copy of Richard Ffrench’s excellent illustrated book Birds of Trinidad and Tobago and take a tour with one of the expert bird guides mentioned in our article.
